AMRC has joined 32 other leading organisations in signing an open letter, which calls on the Chancellor of the Exchequer to commit to delivering £22 billion of public investment in R&D by 2024/25 to help cement the UK's position as a 'science superpower'.

Dr Catriona Manville, Director of Policy and Public Affairs at AMRC said: "This ambition is essential and there is growing concern that the timeline for delivering it may be slipping. Without this investment, the loss of possible scientific advances and missed potential patient benefit cannot be quantified."

In our recent response to the Spending Review 2021, we highlighted that the best way to meet government's investment targets is to support a robust ecosystem for the life sciences, which allows government, industry and medical research charities to invest with confidence in a sustained way.
