What's happening News AMRC response to DSIT allocation for research and development in the next year Published: 4 April 2025 The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) has announced that it will allocate £13.9 billion in funding for research and development in the next year. Nicola Perrin, Chief Executive of the Association of Medical Research Charities, said: “Research brings benefits to patients across the UK and is vital to economic growth and productivity. Continued government backing for R&D is therefore welcome, especially given the tough economic climate.
