The climate is changing. Warmer temperatures and shifting weather patterns pose a fundamental threat to the health and survival of people in the UK and around the world, as well our planet. To combat climate change, it’s incumbent on all of us to minimise the negative impact of our activities, cutting carbon emissions and becoming more environmentally sustainable.
Climate change is beginning to eclipse all other issues as the situation becomes ever more pressing. If AMRC and its members aim to be future-facing organisations, we must play a part in addressing this. As organisations dedicated to saving and improving lives through research and innovation our members have a responsibility to take a lead in tackling climate change.
We have established a Climate Change Action Group for members interested in joining the ongoing discussion about climate change and environmental sustainability in research and beyond. Please contact our Director of External Affairs, Louise Wren ([email protected]), if you would like to be part of the group.
We have signposted some practical actions that charities can take to become more environmentally sustainable in the below pages. Click on the boxes to view the pages.
