Last week, funders and sponsors of studies on the NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) portfolio were sent lists of studies identified by CRN as behind targets and which should be considered as ‘for action’ and review for potential closure. This followed a further open letter from Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England/Improvement as part of their work to address the significant challenges with clinical research in the NHS. Links to all the letters, HRA guidance, FAQs and additional information can be found on the Research Reset microsite.

This process is relevant to a number of AMRC members who fund studies in the NHS. To support our members, who are part of this process; we will be running a troubleshooting session on Friday 20 May (10am-11am) to discuss the process and any issues you have identified with representatives from DHSC. You may register for the meeting via this link. For any additional queries, please contact our Policy Officer, Simon Turpin.
