We are pleased to announce that Nicola Perrin MBE will be taking over as CEO at AMRC from 12 November.

Nicola has been working with us since the Spring as interim Director of Policy and Public Affairs and we are confident that the transition from Hilary Reynolds our interim CEO will be seamless.

Many of you will be familiar with Nicola already. She was previously Head of Policy for the Wellcome Trust and since then, she has been instrumental in setting up Understanding Patient Data to support better conversations about uses of health data. She was able to use this knowledge and expertise during the pandemic to help shape the International COVID-19 Data Alliance.

Nicola has been dedicated to the success of AMRC for some years having served as a trustee for two terms.

Commenting on her appointment Nicola Perrin said:

“AMRC does such important work to support medical research charities and so I feel incredibly honoured to be taking on this role.  At such a difficult time for the sector, I am lucky to be able to build on the fantastic legacy of Aisling Burnand’s leadership over the past seven years. I am very much looking forward to getting to know all of our member charities when I start and continuing the vital work with an amazing team of colleagues.”
