Marie Curie is a UK charity dedicated to the care of people with terminal illnesses and their families, carers, communities and friends. They provide a network of Marie Curie Nurses, who work in the homes of terminally ill patients across the UK, providing practical care and support. They also have nine Marie Curie Hospices across the UK.

Marie Curie is the largest charitable funder of palliative and end of life care research in the UK. They support research in a number of ways, this includes the funding of project grants in the open and competitive Marie Curie Research Grants Scheme, long term research centres and internal research capacity development through the Research Lead and Academic Research Fellowship programmes at Marie Curie Hospices, as well as an Internal Small Research Grants Scheme.
