Chronic Granulomatous Disorder Society The CGD Society (CGDS) is a source of world-wide support for individuals and families affected by chronic granulomatous disorder (CGD). The charity provides comprehensive information, offers direct support to individuals and families via email and a helpline and funds a nursing support service that assists both patients and medical professionals requiring advice on the treatment of a patient with CGD. CGDS funds research into the cause, inheritance, diagnosis, management and treatment of CGD. Key strategic areas for funding are gene and cellular therapy as a treatment and potential cure, the causes and treatment of infection and inflammation in CGD and basic research of the structure and function of the biological defect and identification of pathways for therapeutic intervention. www.cgdsociety.org Twitter: @cgdsociety Primary research areas Congenital disorders, Inflammatory and immune system Grant types Postgraduate studentship, Project (typically <4 years)
