As the UK’s withdrawal from the EU looks increasingly likely to occur without a deal being agreed, new Chancellor Sajid Javid has announced government are providing a further £2.1 billion to prepare for no-deal. The funding boost includes £434 million to help ensure continuity of supply of vital medicines and medical products by increasing freight, warehouse and stockpiling capacity. In addition, £344 million will be spent on improving border and customs operations, £108 million will be available to promote and support businesses, and £138 million will be spent on a public communications campaign.
