As digital health technologies develop at an increasing pace, NICE have worked with partners to develop standards that ensure new technologies are clinically effective and offer economic value.

The aim of these standards is to make it easier for innovators and commissioners to understand what good levels of evidence for digital healthcare technologies look like, while meeting the needs of the health and care system, patients, and users.

The project to develop the standards brought key parties together including innovators, commissioners, clinicians, academics and other stakeholders to better understand their needs, experiences and perspectives. However, it is unclear whether patients or the public were involved.
