Last week, government published a number of communications which outline further details of the preparations underway to minimise disruption of the supply of medicines and medical products in a no-deal EU Exit.

Updated information for patients has been published on the NHS website alongside updated information for healthcare providers and a Q&A for both patients and healthcare providers on the NHS England website. Plans outlined in the communications include additional shipping capacity prioritising medicines and medical products, and working with industry to ensure an additional six weeks buffer supply of stock.

AMRC issued a statement in response highlighting the publications as going some way to provide reassurance for patient communities but, even with these plans in place, government should be under no illusions of the consequences for patients if we leave the EU without a deal.
