A key ingredient in the success of the National Institute for Health Research has been working with partners from charities, both to achieve its aims and to improve the UK research ecosystem. But a survey of charities in October 2017 showed that few knew about NIHR research programmes and how to collaborate with them.

Read more from Dr Helen Compton, Stakeholder Engagement Manager at the NIHR Central Commissioning Facility, on how this guidance is making it easier for charities to collaborate with the NIHR on health and care research projects.
