A new campaign launches today to show how university research is saving lives and keeping people healthy. Developed in response to research which found that many people believe that all universities do is teach, the ‘Nation’s Lifesavers’ list showcases over 100 stories of medical research and innovations #MadeAtUni.

Much of the work being profiled through media relations and on social media is supporting AMRC member organisations. Professor Dame Janet Beer, Universities UK's President, has written a blog for AMRC on the campaign and how such research partnerships across the UK are making a difference to people’s lives.

Universities UK invite you to join the campaign and help them promote the role of universities in delivering medical research, and in supporting your work.

How to get involved:

  1. Support the campaign on social media – follow @madeatuni and share the Nation’s Lifesaver’s List and stories relevant to your organisation.
  2. Create videos or other multimedia content to share your stories of projects and partnerships you are involved in #MadeAtUni, or share a statement of support as an individual or organisation about the contribution universities make to your organisation, work or personal life.
  3. Use the campaign toolkit to download campaign materials and find out more

All stories are available on a specially designed campaign website or contact campaign manager Beth Button to find out which are relevant to your organisation’s work.
