Baroness Blackwood, the recently appointed Health Minister gave a speech on the importance of technology in the NHS at AMRC’s Delving into Digital event last week. She talked about the importance of getting health data and healthtech policy right because of its unique potential in the coming years, as well as about the need to create a digitally enabled NHS that works for everybody around the country. Baroness Blackwood confirmed that the new NHSX will go live on 15 April and will play a vital role in driving forward the digital innovation agenda. She also announced additional funding for the further development of the Digital Innovation Hubs and a new funding stream to evaluate medtech innovations, NIHR i4i Programme.
