Mims Davies MP has been announced as the new Minister for Sport and Civil Society after Tracey Crouch MP resigned the post in protest at the Government’s decision to delay reforms to Fixed Odds Betting Terminals (FOBTs), a type of gambling machine widely used in the UK.

Before taking up the role in the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Davies held a number of influential posts, as Private Parliamentary Secretary to Sajid Javid whilst Secretary of State at the Department of Culture and Local Government, and Matt Hancock MP whilst Secretary of State at DDCMS.
