From December 2005, AMRC member charities that wish to collect information about the full economic costs (fECs) on applications submitted to them by UK universities, may attach the proforma developed for this purpose to their existing application forms.
Universities that are applying TRAC accounting at the project level may wish to complete these forms in order to assist AMRC and its member charities to develop a better understanding of the proportion of fECs covered by their grants. This data will also be used to inform future discussions about the additional stream of funding - the Charity Research Support Fund (CRSF) - which will be allocated by HEFCE to universities in England from 2006/07 on the basis of eligible charity income. The CRSF is intended to meet a proportion of the fECs of charity funded research grants.
