Reply from the Prime Minister about the creation of hybrid embryos for research

The Prime Minister Tony Blair has replied to the letter signed by members of the AMRC and the Genetic Interest Group about the creation of human-animal hybrid embryos for research. The letter refers to the Human Tissue and Embryos (draft) Bill currently undergoing pre-legislative scrutiny, and emphasises that the Government intends to accept the creation of human and animal hybrid embryos for medical research purposes.
