AMRC joins research and innovation (R&I) organisations across the UK to support the Environmental Sustainability of Research and Innovation Practice concordat launched today.

The concordat, co-developed by the R&I sector including the AMRC, presents a common ambition to become more environmentally sustainable. It outlines actions that will reduce and eliminate negative environmental impacts and emissions associated with carrying out research and innovation.

Signatories agree to action six priority areas outlined in the concordat and must publicly share how they will deliver its sustainability aims and publish annual summaries of progress.

For those who support the aims and ambitions of the concordat but are in the early stages of their environmental sustainability journey there is a ‘supporter’ category.

Nicola Perrin, CEO of AMRC said Tackling climate change is becoming ever more pressing. AMRC welcomes the launch of this concordat, which will unite the R&I sector and encourage organisations to deliver cutting-edge research in a more environmentally responsible way. We are a proud supporter of the concordat and encourage others to join us and pledge their support.”
