All Party Parliamentary Group on Medical Research

Medical research in the UK is funded from a variety of sources including government, charities and industry.  Partnerships are an important part of the landscape which is why AMRC, Academy of Medical Sciences, Medical Research Council, Cancer Research UK and the Wellcome Trust have come together to establish an All Party Parliamentary Group on Medical Research.

The purpose of the group is to provide an ongoing forum and network for parliamentarians with an interest in medical research; to facilitate collaboration between parliamentarians and medical research bodies and; to provide MPs and Peers with up to date information on developments in medical research, including aspects of public health, the ethics of research and the implications of research findings for society.

AMRC provides the secretariat for the group which had its inaugural meeting on 13 December 2005.

For further information on these or other activities of the group please contact us.
