The government has launched a consultation on the Medical Innovation Bill (also known as the Saatchi Bill). It's a complicated area but we know that as many have said, adoption of innovation by the NHS is "low and slow" and needs to improve. We'd like to hear your views as we develop the AMRC's response. Even the best clinical trial can't succeed if patients aren't told about it. Last year the NIHR told patients 'It's OK to ask , but for GPs is it OK to tell? NICE are consulting on some new clinical indicators for GPs, but there are no measures to encourage GPs to be involved in research.
